It’s that time of year again. The weather is cooling down, the leaves are changing color, and you’re probably planning your Halloween costume. But there’s one more thing you need to do before fall arrives: get some gifts for your friends and family! If you don’t have time to stop by the mall or browse through Amazon Prime (and who does?), don’t worry—there’s a whole world of things to buy on Etsy that are handmade and unique. So here are great ideas for gifts you can get for Halloween or Thanksgiving:

Cupcakes

Cupcakes are a great gift idea to give to family, friends and coworkers. You can make them yourself or buy them from a bakery. If you are going to buy fall cupcakes for someone, make sure they are fresh so that your recipient will enjoy them. Cupcakes in a jar make for an excellent gift.

Shark Tank Fame Wicked Good Cupcakes say, ” Their uniquely delicious cupcake jars are the best way to celebrate any occasion.”

Wrap up in a cozy blanket

Consider a new blanket or bedding set if you’re looking for something cozy that can be used year-round. A good throw blanket will be warm enough for the cooler months but also versatile enough to use during spring and summer as well. Other options include buying your special someone a new pillowcase or even making one yourself if they have wanted to try their hand at sewing!

If they are not much of a home decorator and are more outdoorsy, consider getting them something like this little hammock chair (below). They could hang it in their backyard or even just take it with them when they go camping!

Go for an adventurous hike

Hiking is a great way to get exercise and enjoy the outdoors, no matter what time of year it is. If you need a break from city life, hiking can be an excellent way to get away from your phone and reconnect with nature. The next time you search for fresh air, consider going on a hike with friends or family members!

Brew some homemade apple cider

Homemade apple cider is a great gift as it’s easy to make and you can use it for so many different things. You will need the following:

  • 5-10 pounds of apples (preferably fresh)
  • 2 cups brown sugar or honey
  • 2 cinnamon sticks or 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
  • 1 gallon of water (filtered preferred) or 2 quarts of apple juice (not from concentrate)

Wash and core the apples, then slice them into quarters. Place all ingredients in a large pot or crockpot and slowly boil over medium heat for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat and simmer for about 4 hours, adding more water if needed until desired consistency has been reached (you want this thick). Cool completely before storing in jars or other airtight containers.
